#1: Tres Rios,Cancun

Situated only seven miles to the north of tropical Playa del Carmen is the Tres Rios ecological park. With over 370 acres of lush tropical forest, four underground glorious rivers, natural pools called cenotes, beautiful vegetation and numerous species of birds, Tres Rios is a must-visit attraction when in the Riviera Maya. #2: Xcaret, Cancun

Just five miles to the south of Playa del Carmen is Xcaret (pronounced as ish-care-et) which is a famous ecological park with over 25 acres of park to explore. This park is famous with amongst Mexico travelers and offers visitors natural attractions, cultural experiences, water fun and ecological displays. See a turtle nursery, magnificent waterfalls, bat caves, botanical gardens and a blossoming orchid farm. #3: Xel-ha

Xel-ha is a short drive from the resident and marina complex known as Puerto Aventuras. Pronounced as ‘shell’ha’, this ecological park provides ancient stories about the Mayan Gods and is referred to as the largest natural marine life and aquarium in the world. Divers and snorkel lovers will be delighted with a visit to this exotic park because there are numerous multi-coloured fish to see, dolphin swim experiences, 10 acres of shimmering blue cenotes, lagoons and creeks to explore.

#4: Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve

Just a short trip from Tulum, this park and reserve offers visitors the opportunity to explore glorious fauna and flora at every turn. Guests to the park can also see unexcavated ancient Mayan ruins, swim in cenotes, observe freshwater canals, as well as inlets, mangroves and beautiful blue lagoons. There is a small and charming fishing village located within the park called Boca Paila and the nearby town of Punta Allen can be found at the south side of the reserve.

#5: Punta Laguna
