Looking for Mexico travel safety tips? Look no further!  We at www.CanadaTravels.com believe in safe travel when planning a trip overseas. Most people who travel to tropical Mexico do not encounter many problems, but it is always good to be aware of your surroundings. If you are wondering 'how safe is Mexico', don't worry; as long as you take a look at these top Mexico travel safety tips, you and your loved ones will feel safe abroad.

#1: When packing for your trip make sure you leave your valuables at home. Don't take that antique watch or pair of earrings your great grandmother gave you.

#2: Use the buddy system when going out on the town or leaving your resort. It is better to go with two or more friends and keep an eye on each other throughout the night. No wandering off on your own as you might be putting yourself in a risky situation. Women especially, should always travel in packs.

#3: Use a money belt to wear under your clothes.(not a fanny pack from the 80's!)

#4: Before you go to Mexico keep updated on the recent crime. Check out World Travel Watch for current information.

#5: Keep copies of your passport(s) in every bag and scan and email them to yourself so you have a copy if you ever lose your real one.

#6:Make sure someone in your home country has your trip itinerary of where you'll be visiting, what hotel you are staying at and who you are visiting. Don't tell people you meet when you travel your itinerary just in case.

#7: Try to blend in with the locals. If you look like a tourist (think map holding, camera's flashing and Hawaiian shirts) you might be taken advantage of.

#8: If you need to withdraw money try to do it in popular areas or shopping malls. Deserted areas with an ATM might be the easiest way to lose your card or cash.

#9: Keep a list of local hospitals, police stations and medical clinics. You never know when you might need it.

#10: Be aware at all times and know your surroundings. Keep your eyes open and be wary of anyone that looks a bit shady.
