Santiago de Cuba

santiagodescription

As the second largest city in Cuba, Santiago de Cuba is always hopping with excitement and entertainment and is always bustling with tourists. It is the most ‘Caribbean’ looking out of all of Cuba’s cities and is located in the southeast end. This great city survived many pirate attacks and US military interventions that date back to 1515 when Spanish conquistadors discovered the island. It is a colorful city that glitters in the night sky and visitors can enjoy numerous historic and cultural experiences.

If you love Caribbean-inspired art and Cuban music, ancient architecture, historic landmark attractions and have an interest in politics, Santiago de Cuba is the place to be. Museum lover? There are a myriad of museums to explore when in this hot exciting city, as well as the famous Antonio Maceo monument to see. Dance day and night to the Latin beat at Casa de La Trova, see fantastic scenic views from Morro Castle or take a hiking tour of La Gran Piedra. (The Big Rock)
