Dublin

dublin 1

Known as Ireland’s vibrant capital, Dublin is dynamic, historic and offers a plethora of experiences and activities to its thousands of visitors every year. Visitors must add this to their ‘travel to-do list’ when planning a trip to Ireland, as a visit without Dublin isn’t a true Ireland visit at all. This glorious city has numerous landmark attractions and sights to see for all types of travelers, their tastes and their budgets. Music is essential to everyday living in this city and you will never approach a corner pub that isn’t chiming a tune.

Dublin was born in and around the area of Temple Bar where Vikings once roamed and medieval history was created. Temple Bar is the oldest, most-famous, part of the heart of the city and has been for years. There are four acclaimed public areas that are popular with visitors worldwide. These gathering places are known as the Temple Bar Square, Meeting House Square, Curved Street Square and Cow’s Lane.

On one end of the city of Dublin you have churches and cathedrals and historic buildings, while on the other end there are castles, pubs, monuments and Georgian squares to see. There isn’t a shortage of activity in this world-famous city and there is something new to explore at every turn.

There are major shopping centres for shop lovers to enjoy and an excellent tramway system to get tourists every where they want to go. Music enthusiasts can catch magnificent performances at the National Concert Hall performed by the National Symphony Orchestra, while sea lovers can take long shore-side and cliff-top strolls. A camera is necessary when strolling upon the cliffs and shores of Dublin as the picturesque views are breathtaking and unlike any other.

Landmark attractions are located near the River Liffey and are fairly close to one another for day tours and treks around the city. Shoppers can head to the Southside of the river, where the Grafton Street shopping area has numerous designer boutiques and Irish crafts to buy. Avid nightlife goers can check out the Temple Bar arts quarter which is home to Ireland’s most famous nightclubs and theatres such as the ancient Smock Alley Theatre and the modern Project Arts Centre.
