Climate: As a Mediterranean country, Tunisia enjoys mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers in the temperate north. The south is desert. Incomprehensibly, tourists arrive for the heat, June to August. The first few months of the year are much nicer; it's rainy and cool, yes-but the rates are down and there's no pushing and shoving at the stone-age settlements near the oasis near Kebili or the Roman ruins of El-Jem.
What to Wear: There is a wide variation of day-night temperatures. Wear linens and light cottons in winter and at night. In winter along the coast, you'll need a sweater and light rainwear. South of the Sahara, warm clothes are required from mid-Dec to mid-Jan.
Temperature & Precipitation: Below you'll find the average monthly temperature and precipitation for major cities in Tunisia. You will likely experience warmer temperatures because the values displayed are an average of day-time and night-time readings.
