Geographical FeaturesGeographical Features: Uzbekistan shares its borders with Afganistan, Kazakstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. It is a double-landlocked country, meaning that its bordering countries are landlocked too. The landscape is dominated by flat, gently rolling sandy desert with dunes, broad river valleys which are intensely irrigated. Fergana Valley is surrounded by mountains. In the west is the shrinking Aral Sea. There are a number of mineral water springs such as Matsetsa, Staraya Russia, Tskhaltudo, Naftussi and others.
