The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is made up of seven states, Abu Dhabi is the capital. Most of the cities are modern, with high-rise buildings, fountains and parks which reveal the wealth of the nation, rich in oil reserves and natural beauty. Although most of the terrain is made up of desert plains with rolling dunes, there are mountainous areas, oases and the emerald waters of the Persian Gulf along the coast. With great sunny weather year round, it is an ideal destination for a summer getaway and 'something different'. Camel tours or 4x4 safaris into the desert dunes, fun parks, shopping delights, beautiful beaches, resorts, hotels, hot air ballooning and camel racing form part of the attraction to this unique destination.
