Destination CitiesDestination Cities: The capital Paramaribo has a number of historical buildings and city parks surrounded by towering palm trees. It is a mixture of Northern Europe and South American jungle. There is a good market alongside the mangrove bordered river near the central square. The smaller towns, especially those with river access, are great places to hire a guide and canoe for a tour of the rainforest or one of the many incredible nature parks.

Points of InterestPoints of Interest: Suriname has a number of national parks including the Brownsberg Nature Park which overlooks one of the world’s largest reservoirs. The coastal reserves allow you an opportunity to witness the leatherback sea turtles during egg-laying season. Anyone wishing to take in the natural sites should contact Stinasu (the Foundation for Nature Preservation) in Paramaribo.
