Television: The television format in Greece is PAL B/G. If you buy a VHS video or want to play one you brought from home, and do not have a multi-zone VHS player, make sure the format matches your home country. See the chart below:
NTSC stands for the National Television System(s) Committee and was an industry-wide standardization body created in 1940 by the FCC and introduced a nation-wide analog television system for the United States. The standard was lateradopted by many American, Asian and Pacific countries.
PAL stands for Phase Alternating Line, or Phase Alternation Line. It is a color encoding system developed in Germany by Walter Bruch, working at Telefunken, and first introduced in 1967.
DVD Zone: Greece is in Zone 2. If you buy a DVD for use at home, make sure it is either "universal" or matches your home country. See the chart below:
